Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Community Launch Fellow (Paid Summer Fellowship)

Radiant Youth Foundation is a Birmingham-based nonprofit focused on youth development and community-centered programming. We are launching a new youth initiative this summer and are building a small, committed team to help bring the program to life in partnership with local families and neighborhoods.

About the Fellowship

Radiant Youth Foundation is seeking 2–3 UAB undergraduate students to join our Community Launch Fellowship
, a paid, full-time summer opportunity for students interested in community-based youth work.

This is not a traditional internship. Fellows will play a direct role in launching and operating a real youth program — from outreach and relationship-building to program facilitation and reflection.

Duration: 8–10 weeks (Summer 2026)

Time commitment: Full-time

Compensation: ~$2,500 stipend

Offers are contingent on funding; finalists will be notified first.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the launch of a community-based youth program in Birmingham
  • Work directly with youth, families, and community partners
  • Assist with outreach, logistics, and weekly programming
  • Reflect on and document lessons learned to support future growth
  • Collaborate closely with a small, mission-driven team
Who Should Apply

We’re especially interested in students who:

  • Are studying (or interested in)
Anthropology, Sociology, Community Development, Public Health, Education, Social Work
    , or related fields
  • Have a strong interest in community-based or youth-centered work
  • Are comfortable working in real-world, relationship-driven settings
  • Are rooted in or committed to Birmingham communities

Prior experience with youth or community organizations is helpful but not required.

How to Apply

To express interest, please submit:

  • A resume or short background summary
  • Brief responses to a few screening questions (shared after initial interest)

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis
.
