Overview

Foundation and Development – Main Campus, Lee Building.

Schedule:

Full-time, Day Shift, Monday–Friday.

The Children’s of Alabama Foundation is the nonprofit fundraising arm of the hospital, dedicated to securing and responsibly managing charitable support to advance the hospital’s mission to provide the finest pediatric health services. The Foundation collaborates with individuals, families, community groups, corporations and foundations to secure philanthropic support that helps improve patient care, advance medical research, and provide programs for children and families facing a medical journey.

Responsibilities
  • Research, develop, and prepare documentation of funding needs for select hospital programs.
  • Identify possible corporate, foundation, or government funding sources for each program.
  • Conduct inter- and intra-departmental meetings to identify and prioritize projects for development and funding consideration aligned with Foundation strategy.
  • Prepare, assemble, and edit written grant requests and proposals for submission; make presentations as necessary in support of each solicitation or funding initiative.
  • Engage in grant writing, major gift development, or fundraising activities as part of the role.
  • Understand the grants process from research through relationship building, proposal writing, ongoing grants management, and stewardship.
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements and developing accurate budgets and related financial information (where applicable).
Qualifications
  • Education with Equivalent

    Qualifications:

    Essential:
    Bachelors of Science or Arts.
  • Experience with Equivalent

    Qualifications:

    Essential: 5 years of job experience as Staff level with specialization in the field of Marketing-Funding.
  • Must be able to work independently with demonstrated initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to engage with high-level Hospital leadership and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and ability to quickly understand federal, state, and community funding sources and fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities; able to work under extreme deadlines in a high-pressure, politically sensitive environment.
