The Part-Time Children's & Youth Minister ncis Xavier Catholic Church is responsible for supporting the fellowship and faith formation of children and youth in the parish. Working 10-15 hours per week, the Children’s & Youth Minister plans and facilitates key children’s and youth ministry activities, in collaboration with volunteers and parish staff. This work is supported and supervised by the Director of Family and Community Life.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate regularly scheduled Children’s Ministry (grades 4K-5). This will include programming for the First Wednesday Parish Community Dinner.
• Assist with Vacation Bible School.
• Plan and lead Youth Ministry on Sunday evenings following Mass for middle school (grades 6-8) and high school students (grades 9-12).
• Organize a limited number of Youth Ministry special events throughout the year, such as movie nights, service projects, lock-ins, and retreats.
• Assist with Confirmation preparation.
• Assist in coordinating participation in diocesan youth events and summer camp opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with families, volunteers, and parish staff regarding ministry events and opportunities.
• Assist in ensuring that Children’s and Youth Ministry is conducted in compliance with diocesan safe environment requirements.
