Work schedule will be Full-time on the Evening Night Shift shift, 3 12-Hour Shifts.
SummaryThe staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients with assessment, interventions, and reassessments.
- Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate care for patients and caregivers.
- Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
- Current BLS certification.
- Credentials with Equivalent
Qualifications:- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
- Basic Life Support
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications:
- Education with Equivalent

Children’s of Alabama's pediatric Hematology / Oncology department proudly serves a diversity of patient populations throughout the Southeastern United States. Patients’ ages typically range from birth through adolescence with a variety of hematological and oncological disorders. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit has 24 beds and is located in the Quarterback Tower of the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Alabama. The Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division prides itself in innovation, teamwork, commitment, compassion, understanding and clinical excellence.
This unique acute care department boasts a team of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of these children who may be struggling with both health and developmental related issues. The Pediatric Hematology / Oncology Division is recognized as a Center of Excellence in the delivery of progressive therapies to our children facing cancer. The department provides many professional opportunities for our nurses, including a comprehensive orientation program, continuing education opportunities, mentoring programs, preceptorships, and more.
