Position: Charge RN - Charge Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown - Weekend Days
Position Overview

• Department: Cardiovascular ICU Stepdown - CVICU Stepdown
• Schedule: Full-Time Weekend Days, 2 12-Hour Shifts, Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East

What You Will Do

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
• Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
• May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• ACLS may be reguired in some units (Step Down and ICU) within 6-months of date hire or transfer

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required.  1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
