In Nursing Advanced Practice Providers at Main Campus Quarterback Tower.

Work schedule will be Part‑time. Benefits eligible on the Day/Evening Shift, Monday‑Sunday 07:00‑17:30, 20 hours per week.

Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant with education, training, certification, and licensure to provide care for a specified patient population. This individual will deliver care for patients who are technologically dependent, highly vulnerable for complications, requiring frequent or complex monitoring and/or ongoing inpatient management with acute, complex and/or chronic illnesses. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and scholarship.

This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, Lead APP, Director of Advanced Practice Providers, Department Director, staff nurses and other team members.

Other Information Education
  • MSN, DNP or Post‑Graduate Certificate with specialization as a pediatric nurse practitioner
  • Graduate of master’s or doctoral level physician assistant program
Experience
  • At least 1 year of nursing or medical experience required with experience in the subspecialty area preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Must be eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner as determined by the Alabama Board of Nursing or as a physician assistant as determined by the Alabama Board of Medicine
  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama for nurse practitioners
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
  • Valid Acute Care PNP or Primary Care PNP certification from appropriate certifying board or certification as PA‑C from NCCPA
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner ABON
  • Basic Life Support
  • Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
  • Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
  • Registered Nurse Non‑AL NLC Multi State
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care PNCB or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care PNCB
  • Family Nurse Practitioner AANP
  • Family Nurse Practitioner ANCC
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC
Education with Equivalent Qualifications
  • Masters of Science Nursing in Nursing
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications
  • 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Acute

Schedule:

Monday‑Sunday 07:00‑17:30, 20 hours per week, Day‑Evening Shift, 10‑Hour Shifts.
