Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday through Friday.
SummaryResponsible for facilitating the professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel at Children's of Alabama.
Education- MSN required with a focus on subspecialty area appropriate for specific position preferred. BSN candidates will be considered but must enroll (within 12 months of accepting position) and complete an MSN degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience (with at least 2 years experience working with a specified patient population or pediatric nursing preferred). Good oral and written communication skills.
- Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
- BLS, PALS, or NRP Instructor Certification
- National Certification obtained within 2 years
- Member of Professional Organization
- Certified Pediatric Nurse or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse
- Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion
- Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse
- Certified Nephrology Nurse
- Certified Nurse Operating Room
- Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse
- Nursing Professional Development Certification
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
- Basic Life Support
- Essential:
Bachelor of Nursing Equivalent - Nonessential:
Masters of Science Nursing
- Essential: 3 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Acute

The Nursing Professional Development Center offers the following to health care professionals working at Children’s of Alabama:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) programs
- American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support (PALS) programs
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Nursing Service Orientation
- Clinical Assistant/Unit Support Staff orientation
- Transition into Practice for newly graduated nurses
- Education support and consultation
- Pediatric continuing education programs (Alabama Board of Nursing and American Nurses Credentialing Center approved providers)
- Coordination of clinicals and preceptorships for schools and colleges of nursing
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, Day Shift, Monday-Friday Standard Days
