Eligible APP Roles

Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Work Schedule

Full‑time, benefited. 12‑hour AM shifts, 5am‑5pm. Will work 14‑16 shifts per month. Weekends and holiday are required.

Differential Pay

Weekend shift differential: $50 per shift.

CME Allowance

Full‑time APPs receive an annual $2,000.00 CME allowance. This can be used for recertification, applicable fees, CME courses, and other expenses incurred after a new employee’s start date.

Job Description

The Advanced Practice Provider will work with the entire multidisciplinary team to manage trauma and burn patients on the Trauma floors. This will include daily assessments, progress notes, placing orders, discharge orders, and consulting with other services and ancillary providers.

General Responsibilities
  • To provide medical care and treatment within established scope of practice to surgical patients under the direction of the collaborating physician.
  • To coordinate plan of care, discharge and specialty referrals to meet the age‑specific needs of the patient.
  • To perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments.
  • To interpret, analyze, and evaluate patient’s medical records and social data.
  • To perform and/or assist the physician with procedures per collaborative agreement.
  • To coordinate and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • To plan and coordinate health‑care education for patient, family, and other health‑care providers as needed.
  • To contribute to a safe environment for patients and others.
  • To demonstrate a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.
Key

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Based on thorough physical and psychosocial patient assessments, formulate and implement comprehensive patient care plans focused on surgical interventions, including patient and family education, prescriptions, additional lab and diagnostic testing, and therapies.
  • Ensure complete documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and care provided.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and other diagnostic tests for the patient.
  • Maintain records and reports as required by regulatory agencies and The Joint Commission; coordinate and/or participate in performance and quality improvement activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of research protocols, acting as a patient advocate and liaison between the patient and other health‑care providers.
  • Provide assistance in orientation and/or training of new clinical personnel, conduct workshops, in‑service training, and distribute appropriate materials for patients and staff.
  • Serve as the expert clinical resource for clinical staff and patients in the area of specialty.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients and others.
  • Demonstrate a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
