Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., operates plasma donation centers and provides life‑changing medicines. As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support daily center operations, donor eligibility, incident management, and EHS coordination, reporting to the Center Manager.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological testing results.
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results.
- Evaluate donor reactions, handle medical emergencies as per SOPs, and coordinate transport to emergency care.
- Refer medical concerns to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluation with occupational health/ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate degree in a recognized nursing program (state licensed).
- Licensed or certified LPN/LVN in the state of assignment, with CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
- FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience.
Location:
USA – AL – Birmingham. Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44, subject to qualifications and experience.
