RN - Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Position Overview

1 Full-time, Monday - Friday, shifts start at 6:00 AM, 5/8 hr shift. Rotating holiday, weekend, and evening call required.

Surgery, OR Schedule

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure.
• Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during, and after the procedure.
• Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date;
  American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date;
  American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.

• OR experience strongly preferred.
