Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Step-Down (CVSU) night shift position in Birmingham, AL, requiring 2+ years of cardiac/CV surgery experience and AHA certifications.

Job Details

• Located in a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital recognized for cardiovascular services, stroke care, and surgical care,

• CVSU Step-Down unit with 11 beds serving post-cardiac surgery patients,

• Patient ratio of 4:1,

• Charting via Cerner EMR,

• Monitoring performed on GE equipment,

• Night shift schedule: 18:30-07:00, 3x12s,

• Two weekend shifts required per month (4 shifts per 6-week schedule),

• No on-call requirements,

• Floating required to other ICUs and occasionally to med/surg,

Job Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, with no hits on record,

• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - American Red Cross certifications are not accepted,

• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac/CV surgery nursing experience required,

• AL or compact state RN license required,

Additional Information

• Candidate must provide SSN and DOB for consideration,

• Navy scrubs required; fleece is not permitted,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify - local candidates are not accepted,

• Candidates residing in Florida must live more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates,

• An outgoing personality and strong teamwork skills are a plus for this unit
