Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Step-Down (CVSU) position in Birmingham, AL, requiring 2+ years of cardiac/CV surgery experience and AHA certifications.

Job Details

• Position is in a Cardiovascular Step-Down (CVSU) unit within a large, Joint Commission-accredited hospital,

• 11-bed unit caring for post-cardiac surgery patients,

• Patient ratio of 4:1,

• GE monitors used for patient care,

• EMR system:
Cerner,

• 13-week contract with a night shift schedule (18:30-07:00), 3x12 hours,

• 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (approximately 2 per month),

• Floating required to other ICUs and at times med/surg,

• No on-call requirements,

Job Requirements

• Active AL RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration - RN license must have no disciplinary actions or hits,

• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - American Red Cross certifications are not accepted,

• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac/CV surgery nursing experience required,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,

Additional Information

• Provides post-operative nursing care to cardiac surgery patients in a step-down environment,

• Navy scrubs required; fleece is not permitted,

• Candidate SSN and DOB are required for consideration,

• Certifications must not be expired or set to expire within 30 days of the start date; proof of enrollment in a renewal class is acceptable as a placeholder,
