Position: Staff Nurse MedSurg 10 Harbert Ortho EMU Neuro - $10,000 Sign On Bonus

Work Schedule

Full‑time on the Evening Night Shift, Three 12‑hour PM shifts per week 6:45 pm – 7:15 am with variable weekends.

Summary

The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients and caregivers.

Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Experience

Licensures, certifications, and/or registries

  • Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
  • Current BLS certification.
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications:
    Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State, Registered Nurse Non‑AL NLC Multi State.
  • Basic Life Support.
Education with Equivalent Qualifications
  • Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing.
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications

Unit Overview

10 Harbert is a 24‑bed medical‑surgical unit focusing on neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and rehabilitation services. Eight beds are designated for the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. We provide patient‑family‑focused, quality‑driven nursing services for pediatric patients from neonates to adolescents. Our unit emphasizes patient and family education, fostering personal and professional growth for nurses. The team provides high‑quality patient care and excellent customer service.

The EMU is an 8‑bed mini‑unit designated Level 4 by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). Level 4 is the highest level for specialized epilepsy care, including seizure evaluation and treatment plans. The Epileptologist, Nurse Practitioners, and Technicians are highly trained specialists in epilepsy evaluation and treatment through GRID and stereoelectroencephalographic placement and surgery.

Schedule

Three 12‑hour PM shifts per week 6:45 pm – 7:15 am with variable weekends, Evening‑Night Shift, 12‑Hour Shifts.
