- Assist residents with dressing or other personal cares.
- Respond to residents when needed to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
- Assist residents by ambulation or wheelchair to areas of the center (dining room, lobby, activities).
- Serve meals and assist with preparation (opening packets, cutting food, etc.).
- Report any significant findings or observations.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
- Follow proper infection control techniques.
- Respect the rights of each resident, especially privacy and confidentiality.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and ensure follow‑up occurs.
- Converse with residents and families, assist them in adjusting to the center, handle complaints effectively, and develop relationships to meet residents’ psychosocial needs.
- Encourage adequate hydration and nutrition of residents and report deviations or changes.
- Measure blood pressure, pulse, respirations, weight accurately.
- Follow safe working practices and report any incidents promptly to Center Management.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families and center staff.
- Other duties as assigned by Center Management.
- Assist residents in participating or conduct group activity programs.
- Past experience in providing personal care.
- Verbal ability to communicate with residents and understand instructions from nursing staff.
- A preference for performing direct care services.
- Ability to perform a variety of activities characterized by change and short duration in caring for residents.
- Ability to read, write, and accurately report.
