As a Graduate Nurse, you will provide direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting while working under the supervision of a preceptor or nurse leader.
- Provide bedside patient care and monitor patient conditions
- Assist with patient assessments and care planning
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support patients and families by providing compassionate care
- Prioritize patient needs using evidence‑based care practices
- Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment
- Participate in the Nurse Residency Program and ongoing training
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure
- Authorized to take the NCLEX‑RN
- Authorized by the Board of Nursing to practice as a Graduate Nurse
- Alabama RN License or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license within 3 months of hire
- Current BLS certification
- Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC) may be required depending on the unit
Experience
- No prior nursing experience required
- New nursing graduates encouraged to apply
