Infertility Registered Nurse

Alabama Fertility Specialists is hiring an Infertility Nurse in our Homewood location. The infertility nurse provides expert professional nursing care; assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care rendered to patients with urgent, emergent or potential health problems. Previous experience in Fertility and/or Women's Health preferred. Previous experience working in a clinic setting highly preferred. Occasional weekend and call coverage.

• Set-up for procedures and examinations, assist physician with procedures and ensure maximum efficiency; obtain lab test and other reports for physician review
• Telephone/portal triage of patients to ensure productive departmental flow; revise and prioritize daily schedule as needed
• Administer medications as appropriate; document in patient's chart
• Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner; forward charts as appropriate
• Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patients; document appropriately
• Schedule patient visits with physicians
• Notify patients of test/lab results; schedule follow-up appointments as appropriate
• Follow clinic policies for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materials
• Start IVs, monitor patients in recovery
• Must have excellent communication skills and be well-organized
