Psychiatric Registered Nurse; RN

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years PSYCH RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dynamic behavioral health unit is seeking a skilled registered nurse with psychiatric experience to deliver high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. This contract position focuses on providing support on the PM shift in a Geriatric Psychiatry setting. Candidates should have a passion for mental health and possess the adaptability to meet the unique needs of this population.

• Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitoring patient behavior, safety, and well-being
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
• Assessing mental status and documenting patient progress
• Providing emotional support and education to patients and families
• Responding to psychiatric emergencies using de-escalation techniques
• Ensuring compliance with facility protocols and state/federal guidelines
• Fostering a therapeutic environment for patients

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, preferably with geriatric patients
• Current BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with electronic health records is a plus
• Ability to work effectively on the PM shift
