Position Overview

Pay range: $66,372.80 - $96,720.00 / year

Shifts:

• To serve as an oncology population specific clinician and consistent navigator across the complexities of UAB Health System.
• To serve as a patient advocate providing individualized assistance to oncology patients, families and caregivers.
• To utilize the nursing process in assessment of the physical, psychological and social needs of the patient.
• To serve as a liaison with the multidisciplinary care team.
• To provide education and resources to aid in timely access to appropriate level of care, increased utilization of preventive services and promotion of patient self-management with the goal of informed and shared decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three (3) years of related experience required. Oncology nursing experience preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) within 18 months of hire required.
• Certification as an Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) by the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN) within three (3) years of hire required.
