Travel RN – Neuro Med/Surg

Birmingham, Alabama

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to post-neurosurgery and neuroscience patients on a dedicated neuro unit
• Monitor and assess neurological status of patients, documenting findings accurately in Cerner EMRwith a 1:6 patient ratio
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard scheduling rotation

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro and/or Neurosurgery nursing
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Experience caring for post-neurosurgery and neuroscience patient populations

• Experience in a high-acuity neuroscience or neurosurgery unit setting
• Familiarity with Joint Commission-accredited facility standards and stroke care protocols

• Work at a large, comprehensive healthcare facility recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, and surgical care, located in a vibrant city with easy access to cultural and recreational attractions
• No on-call requirements, offering a predictable and balanced schedule for travel nursing professionals
