Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm (work hours may vary at times).
SummaryThe Surgical Services Flow & Scheduling Coordinator serves as the logistical lead for Surgical Services. This key clinical role bridges real-time intraoperative patient flow with strategic, centralized surgery scheduling. Responsible for maximizing OR block utilization, ensuring surgical readiness, and proactively eliminating throughput bottlenecks, this position oversees daily case flow across both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role carries 24/7 operational accountability to support continuous perioperative functions and emergency/add-on case management.
Travel between the Main Campus and Children’s South Campus is required as operational needs dictate.
- Essential:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Preferred:
Masters in Nursing or other healthcare related field non-essential.
- Essential:
Minimum of 3–5 years of perioperative (OR) clinical nursing experience essential, with at least 1 year in a leadership, charge, or coordination role non-essential.

Current unencumbered AL RN License - Preferred:
Specialty national nursing certification such as CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) is non-essential at hire, but is essential to be obtained within 2 years of assuming role.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise, and mentor administrative and clinical teams.
Skills:
Exceptional critical thinking, conflict resolution, and communication skills; proven capability to manage high-stakes conversations with surgeons, anesthesia, and executive staff.
Mobility & Availability:
Flexibility to fulfill 24/7 operational responsibilities and travel between Main Campus and Children’s South Campus.
- Direct experience supervising or leading a centralized surgery scheduling department.
- High proficiency as a super-user in enterprise EMR/scheduling systems (e.g., OR Marketplace, Epic, etc.).
- * Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- - Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- - Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
- * Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing
- * Masters of Science Nursing in Nursing
- * 3 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Surgical
