Job Description Seeking a Compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner in Birmingham, ALSummary:
Our client is seeking a experienced and compassionate Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team in delivering high-quality care to our diverse and underserved patient population. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, enjoys treating a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries, and is passionate about providing timely, high-quality care that improves access for patients in our communities.
Core Responsibilities:- Comprehensive Clinical Care: Urgent Care providers play a critical role in delivering convenient, same-day care while helping patients avoid unnecessary emergency department visits. Treat a diverse mix of acute and episodic conditions and deliver convenient, same-day care to patients of all ages.
Perform office-based procedures including suturing, wound care, I&Ds, splinting, foreign body removal, and point-of-care testing. - Team-Based Care & Coordination: Collaborate with nurses, care coordinators, urgent care team, and specialists to manage care transitions,ensuring continuity.
- Patient Advocacy & Communication: Build trusting, long-term relationships through effective, empathetic communication. Educate patients and families on disease management and healthy lifestyle changes.
- Efficient Workflow & Technology Adoption: Utilize Electronic Health Record(EHR) systems to maintain accurate, up-to-date, and detailed documentation in the electronic medical record system.

RequirementsQualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
- Current unrestricted APRN or PA license
- National board certification & BLS certification
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Prior Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care experience
- Experience managing a broad spectrum of acute conditions
- Experience performing minor procedures and office-based interventions
- CME allowance and professional development support
