General ResponsibilitiesAs a Researcher Lead, this emerging leader role will require you to spearhead major research projects and lead a team of researchers toward achieving significant scientific goals. Your responsibilities include strategic planning, project management, and ensuring alignment of research activities with organizational objectives. You will play a critical role in mentoring junior researchers, fostering a collaborative research environment, and representing the research team at national and international forums.
Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research collaborator contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research for the Basu laboratory using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS), Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS), Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), or other advanced chromatography techniques/skills to promote success of various research grants.
- Develop lab assays in collaboration with PI/lab manager to promote success of various research grants. Also works up established lab assays.
- Oversee projects within the laboratory and assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities.
- Collect, enter, summarize, analyze, and interpret research data. Monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes, develop modifications, and provide data to the PI.
- Work collaboratively in the clinical research setting to promote success of various research grants.
- Help with grant proposals and assist in the preparation and editing of grant applications.
- Supervise lab equipment and supplies.
- Use advanced knowledge of lab practices to direct and teach others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
$52,555 - $85,400
QualificationsMaster's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences- High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) experience is strongly preferred.
- Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) experience is strongly preferred.
- Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) experience is strongly preferred.
- Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) experience is strongly preferred.
