Role Description
The Laboratory Technician will perform day-to-day laboratory activities to support research and development of personalized cancer treatment technologies. This on‑site role is based in Birmingham, AL and involves preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and following standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results. The Laboratory Technician will assist with data collection, documentation, and basic analysis, while adhering to quality control and safety protocols.
Responsibilities include maintaining lab inventory, calibrating instruments, organizing work spaces, and collaborating with scientists and engineers on experimental workflows. The role requires careful attention to detail, consistent record‑keeping, and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications- Demonstrated laboratory skills and experience in routine lab procedures and workflows.
- Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory equipment, including calibration and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, follow protocols, and support experimental design.
- Familiarity with quality control practices, accurate documentation, and compliance with safety standards.
- Experience working in a laboratory technician capacity or similar hands‑on lab role.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a life science, biotechnology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
- Knowledge of oncology, personalized medicine, or clinical research environments is a plus.
- Comfort with basic computer applications for data entry, electronic lab notebooks, and reporting.
