Job DescriptionPost‑doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Talene Yacoubian in the Killion Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics research focus is on understanding mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. The successful candidate will lead projects examining the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating alpha‑synuclein aggregation and clearance in cellular and animal models of Parkinson’s disease.
Appointment will be for one year with the possibility of extension contingent on satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities- Write manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Mentor grad students and lab members.
- Present key research findings at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate on multiple projects within the laboratory.
- PhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, or an equivalent field.
- Advanced laboratory techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
- Prior experience in cell culture and small animal handling.
- Experience in primary neuronal cell culture and live imaging considered a plus.
- Broad knowledge of experimental design and execution to meet research goals.
