Sous Chef

This is a full-time Sous Chef role located on-site at Mountain Brook Club in Birmingham, AL. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, menu planning, and supervision of kitchen staff. Responsibilities include ensuring food quality and safety, managing inventory, overseeing food presentations, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization. The Sous Chef will also contribute to creating new recipes and ensuring a high standard of culinary excellence to meet the club's dining expectations.

• Proficiency in cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment management
• Experience in menu development, recipe creation, and food presentation
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation regulations, and culinary best practices
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage inventory, control costs, and maintain kitchen operations under pressure
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or similar culinary environment
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred
