We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our team in the Birmingham, AL area. The Sous Chef will support culinary operations within a healthcare setting, ensuring the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility. Responsibilities include supervising associates, preparing and cooking food items, developing daily menus, and working with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering.

• Assist the Executive Chef with cost control and expenditure management.
• Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning and creation.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team.

• A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
• Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
• Experience with catering.
• High volume, complex food service operations experience.
• Experience with institutional and batch cooking.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet.
• Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
• Serv Safe certification preferred.
