CompensationBase Salary: $45,000 + Guaranteed Allowance. Anticipated First-Year Earnings: $90,000.
SummaryThe Vehicle Sales Manager implements marketing, sales, and customer satisfaction initiatives to increase retail sales productivity, maximize proceeds and gains from used vehicle sales, identify wholesale customers, proactively manage inventory, promote Ryder Financing, enforce pricing strategies, and coordinate with maintenance and trade managers to ensure vehicles meet Road Ready conditions.
Essential Functions- Aggressively builds a retail vehicle sales network through advertising, direct mail, prospect list development, walk-ins, cold calls, and sales events.
- Maintains inventory control through proper preparation of bills of sale, title information, warranty forms, and other promotional materials.
- Effectively communicates with customers, employees, and Vehicle Sales Management.
- Monitors customer satisfaction and implements continuous improvement processes to drive loyalty.
- Ensures vehicles are accepted for sale in Road Ready (8.1) condition.
- Monitors retail sales and marketing programs, providing feedback and innovative solutions to minimize inventory holding time and maximize vehicle gains.
- Proactively identifies surplus and deficient inventory levels, recommending solutions to reduce holding time.
- Works closely with Area Trade/Wholesale Manager and International Vehicle Sales Manager to coordinate identification, transportation, and deployment of area trade, wholesale, and export units.
- Assists in local wholesaling of “as is” and over‑aged equipment.
- Coordinates and evaluates area customer takeover units with Trade/Wholesale Manager.
- Serves as expert resource on market demand, local pricing, out service quality, and timeliness.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in post‑secondary education preferred, with emphasis on marketing and sales.
- Three years or more in Ryder or the industry with a variety of sales assignments.
- No travel required.
Full compensation may include annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan. Pay range for the position is $90,000.
