Sales Associate

KGS Steel, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join our Birmingham, AL team as a Sales Associate.

This entry-level position serves as the first point of contact for many of our customers. The role is focused on customer service, cash sales, will-call operations, and administrative support while providing training and development toward a future Inside Sales position.

• Assist customers at the will-call and cash sales counter
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct customer inquiries
• Process customer payments and maintain accurate records
• Prepare and organize sales and shipping paperwork
• Coordinate customer pickups with warehouse personnel
• Verify order accuracy and communicate pickup timing to customers
• Assist with customer account setup and documentation
• Maintain organized files and administrative records
• Support the sales team with various administrative tasks
• Deliver professional, friendly customer service at all times

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Previous customer service, retail, administrative, or office experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Steel industry experience is not required; training will be provided

This position is designed as a development role for individuals interested in building a career in steel distribution and sales. Successful candidates will gain exposure to products, customers, operations, and sales processes with the opportunity to advance into an Inside Sales position.
