Technical Sales Representative

Technical Sales and Service Representative for either Birmingham, AL, or Charlotte, NC, territories.

A long-established water treatment chemical and service company is looking to expand its sales force in the above-mentioned regions. The candidate will provide technical sales and service to the industrial and municipal water and wastewater markets. High potential for financial growth and long-term business.

• Must have a 4-year college degree in business, engineering, or science
• Must have experience in wastewater operations
• Must be a fast learner and eager to learn this business
• Must like to work with people and have good communication skills
• Must be success-oriented and be competitive
• Some overnight travel is required
• Must live near Birmingham, AL, or Charlotte, NC.
• Annual base salary starting at $75,000.00, plus commissions.
• Base Salary is paid on either a monthly or bimonthly basis.
• Commissions are paid monthly based on sales/profit from the previous month.
• A company vehicle will be provided for all business travel.
• All supplies, including lab equipment, samples, tools, and safety equipment, are provided.
• A company credit card will be provided for all business expenses. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed through expense reports.
• Health insurance and dental insurance. Family plans are available at a very reasonable cost.
• Commissions will be paid based on the territory's gross profitability, minus $ 7,500/month. The $7500 deduction helps cover your salary and some expenses. Commissions are paid at 10% of the gross profitability. Gross profit is the sales price minus raw material costs, freight, and warehousing costs.
• Will provide you with a two-week vacation in a calendar year.
• 401 (k) plan (Merrill Lynch) that allows you to invest up to 18% of your pre-tax salary. They will invest 3% of your total income in your account to help with your retirement. This program is available after one year of service.
