Role Description

The Business Development Representative is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining a robust pipeline of prospects, and supporting revenue growth through consultative sales activities. Day‑to‑day tasks include conducting outreach via phone, email, and in‑person meetings; researching target accounts; scheduling and attending client appointments;

and presenting RJ Young’s office technology solutions to decision‑makers. The Business Development Representative will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop territory strategies, follow up on marketing‑generated leads, and ensure accurate documentation of activities and opportunities in the CRM system. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, providing ongoing support, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Inside Sales and Lead Generation to effectively identify and nurture prospective clients.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Sales and Business Development to drive new revenue and expand market presence.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to engage prospects, deliver clear presentations, and build lasting customer relationships.
  • Familiarity with office technology solutions, managed IT services, or related industries is beneficial.
  • Experience using CRM software and standard office productivity tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet or exceed performance goals.
  • High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for client meetings as needed.
