The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a critical role in BMS’s customer model, driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The TAS engages HCPs with a differentiated customer experience, presenting balanced scientific and clinical rationales in line with product labels. The role focuses on building strong credibility with regional thought leaders, community-based physicians, and other stakeholders, providing timely scientific information while prioritizing safe and appropriate product use and overall business results.
Key Responsibilities- Portfolio Promotion
- Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise on all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and execute comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Use tools such as CE^3 to derive insights, inform call plans, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Demonstrate scientific expertise using approved resources and publications to present accurate information to HCPs.
- Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with product labeling.
- Organize external speaker programs, selecting speakers from the approved Speakers Bureau.
- Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engage real‑time medical support through Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate proactively with other field teams to enhance the customer experience.
- Share relevant insights and information internally to better serve customers.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
- Strong communication skills to convey scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly.
- Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers and stakeholders through a customer‑centric mindset.
- Preferred experience in neurology.
- Proven account management skills and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Effective cross‑functional teamwork and a can‑do attitude.
- Strong selling and promotional skills demonstrated through performance history.
- Driver’s qualifications: at least 21 years of age, a valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving risk assessment by BMS.

Field – United States – US: $139,230 – $168,714. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final individual compensation will be based on demonstrated experience.
