ABOUT

THE ROLE

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-performing female security professional to join our team at a prestigious client site in Birmingham. We are committed to delivering a security service that reflects the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance and customer experience.

A core requirement of this position is the professional and lawful searching of female members of staff, visitors and contractors in line with client policy and applicable legal frameworks. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, this role carries a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the successful candidate to be female. All searches must be conducted with professionalism, dignity and respect at all times.

We are seeking an officer who does not simply fulfil a duty rota, but who takes genuine ownership of the security environment, proactively identifies risk and consistently raises the standard of service delivery. If you are motivated, driven and take pride in performing at the highest level, this role has been designed with you in mind.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting thorough, professional and dignified searches of female staff, visitors and contractors in accordance with client policy, site procedures and legal requirements, including airport-style searches and locker searches where required.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff, visitors and property at all times, acting as the primary point of contact for security-related matters on site.
  • Conducting regular and structured patrols of the premises, ensuring full coverage of all designated areas and maintaining a visible, professional deterrent at all times.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and access control platforms, identifying and responding to any suspicious activity or security breach with speed and precision.
  • Carrying out Security Control Room duties, including the management and control of vehicular access and egress to and from the site.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action and producing detailed, accurate incident reports to support the client and local authorities.
  • Providing a consistently visible security presence, delivering outstanding customer service and representing both ASEL and Signet with professionalism at all times.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all site procedures, safety protocols and regulatory requirements, reporting any non-compliance through the appropriate channels.
  • Managing the unlocking and locking of all areas of the site in accordance with the agreed schedule, ensuring no area is left unsecured.
  • Liaising with management, contractors and local authorities as required, maintaining clear and accurate records of all interactions and incidents.
  • Digitally recording and reporting all daily activity, incidents and observations using site systems, tablets or mobile devices in accordance with ASEL and client reporting requirements.
  • Assessing and identifying site vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis, working proactively with the management team to reduce and mitigate risk.
  • Managing vulnerable persons with empathy and professionalism, avoiding unnecessary distress and escalating appropriately where required.
THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are not looking for someone who simply meets the minimum criteria. We are looking for an individual who is genuinely passionate about security, committed to continuous improvement, and determined to be the best in the role. The ideal candidate will be:

  • A confident, articulate communicator, capable of delivering clear verbal briefings and producing detailed written incident reports to a high standard.
  • Highly professional in appearance and conduct, consistently representing ASEL and the client with integrity and composure.
