Job Description
Full-Time, Monday - Friday, Various shifts
Diesel Mechanic, Earn up to $36.50 hr
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Birmingham, AL Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day equipment maintenance on our fleet, including preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. Tasks may also include maintenance of trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding, depending on location.
Requirements- Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Ability to handle major repairs
- Experience with AC and electrical systems
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have own tools
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience
- Experience with preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
- Experience using Cetaris for work orders
- Class A CDL holder
- Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks
- Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
