Welder - Earthmoving

Welders will be responsible for performing welding, fabricating and machining repairs on the full line of Caterpillar products and competitor equipment. The person in this role should demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in a safe and efficient manner. The Welder will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows in the welding department within TTCO.

• Basic safe machine operation & inspection.
• Perform welding operations utilizing Stick, MIG, TIG and portable line boring.
• Perform metal cutting utilizing Flame Torch, Plasma and Carbon Arc.
• Perform shop, yard, and job site clean‑up as required.
• Operate wash rack equipment and properly clean components.
• Create comprehensive, timely, and accurate service reports.
• Keep accurate records of all work.

• Proper and regular attendance required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Work experience in a fabrication or welding shop is required.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.
• Ability to quickly acquire required skills and competencies.

• Strong technical skills.
• Strong welding knowledge.
• Basic computing skills.

• Area specific technical training.
• OSHA and MSHA required training.
• Compliance training.

• Work is normally performed in a Service Department shop or on location of customer job sites.
• Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position.
• Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required.

• Speaking, Writing, Typing, Reaching, Kneeling, Grasping, Stooping.
• Lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Climbing on ladders and equipment, Crawling under equipment.
• Exposure to welding fumes and gases, risk of burns and fires, eye and skin injuries, electric shock, welding flash and UV radiation, hazardous materials and chemical exposure, falling objects and structural hazards.
