Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC issues.
- Guide junior technicians and provide training as needed.
- Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and ensure quality work performance.
- Process job tickets and work orders; maintain proper truck inventory; operate company vehicle safely.
- Adhere to Cool Sys CARES culture and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, plus trade or technical school classes.
- Passed Tech Skills Level 4 with 80% or better; valid EPA certificate.
- 3‑5 years of experience in construction HVAC, refrigeration, or related industry; chiller experience required.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems; knowledge of hand and power tools, refrigeration and piping, computer‑controlled systems.
- Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record; ability to safely drive company vehicle.
- Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems, reclaim refrigerant, and use PPE.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer‑service skills; ability to follow company policies and applicable state/federal laws.
- Proficiency with typical business tools (e‑mail, Word, Excel).
Work in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service, and construction environments, often at heights from ladders or scissor lifts. Exposure to noise, extreme cold from refrigerant, heat from brazing, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and dust. Must use proper PPE and safe practices. Physical tasks include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, using hands and fingers, lifting up to 25 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs).
Vision requirements: near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.
