Purpose of the Role The Service Technician / Commissioning Agent is responsible for testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of building systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute functional performance testing to verify systems operate as intended.
- Troubleshoot system deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with mechanical teams, vendors, and project teams.
- Review construction documents, submittals, sequences of operation, and equipment specifications.
- Document commissioning activities, test results, deficiencies, and resolutions.
- Conduct site inspections and verify installation quality and code compliance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and warranty calls as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
Qualifications Must-Have
- EPA Certification
- Experience with HVAC, electrical, controls, mechanical systems, or building automation systems.
- 5+ Years in Service Tech/Commissioning Experience
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel full-time across multi-state project locations
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
Preferred
- Working knowledge of and experience with DDC Controls and Test and Balance process.
- Experience with Daikin Equipment.
- Experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
Typical Work Environment:
Commercial construction sites, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, office buildings, and existing occupied facilities.
