ESS Technician – Security Systems
Parsons is looking for talented ESS Technicians to perform on‑demand services, inventory tracking, streamlined projects, and preventive maintenance on ESS equipment including Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles at approximately 220 court and USMS facilities in the Southern region U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), across multiple districts in the Southern U.S.

- This position requires a strong technical background in electronic security systems, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining mission‑critical security systems that protect personnel, property, and sensitive information.
- Perform non‑routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to onsite physical access control systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intercoms, infrastructure, cabling, door hardware, power, security consoles, life safety devices, detention locks/controllers, and turnstiles.
- Operate trucks, hand tools, light (1‑man) power tools, and aerial man‑lifts.
- Maintain appropriate logs of activities.
- Test, calibrate, repair, and modify control and instrumentation systems at onsite locations under general supervision.
- Assignments are undertaken independently on a regular basis.
- Prepare required field and office reports of various activities and findings.
- Initiate basic reports and/or establish and maintain logs and records.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- US citizenship is a requirement for position consideration.
- 3+ years of experience working on security systems.
- Willing to travel up to three hours to answer service tickets.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work at high elevations.
- Lift and carry 30+ pounds.
- Pull, stand, and work in confined spaces; crouch for long periods of time; and work under inclement cold weather conditions.
- Ability to pass Tier 2 background check/DOJ background check prior to beginning work.
- Ability to be on‑call after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Relevant background in low voltage electronics, physical security, access control, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Desired that candidate possess current manufacturer certifications for the following (willing to negotiate upon hiring):
Commend – Core Level Certification, Radionix (formerly Bosch) – G Series, IQ Sight (formerly Bosch) – BVMS, Hirsch – Velocity.
