This role involves installing and assembling electrical systems in a commercial and industrial setting, with a focus on pulling wire, running conduit, wiring outlets, and installing switches and light fixtures. You will read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to install wire harnesses and build out wall systems that serve as the base for commercial rooms where control systems are housed.
All work is performed on non-energized (non-live) wiring in a controlled industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Pull wire and run conduit to support commercial and industrial electrical installations.
- Wire outlets, switches, light fixtures, and related electrical components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics to plan and execute installations.
- Install wire harnesses and ensure correct routing and termination of conductors.
- Build and wire wall assemblies that serve as the base for commercial control rooms and electrical controls.
- Bend and install conduit to meet layout requirements and code-compliant routing.
- Assemble and install electrical panels and related components as needed for commercial systems.
- Work efficiently in an industrial/manufacturing environment while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members, apprentices, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Verify the accuracy of installations against drawings and schematics and make adjustments as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Proven experience pulling wire and running conduit in commercial or industrial environments.
- Ability to read and work directly from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience wiring outlets, switches, light fixtures, and related electrical devices.
- Skill in bending conduit accurately to meet layout and installation requirements.
- Experience installing wire and electrical systems in a commercial setting.
- Familiarity with electrical panels, assemblies, and harness installations.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and safe work practices for non-energized systems.
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday mornings as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- As an apprentice or journeyman-track electrician.
- Comfort working from detailed panel layouts, schematics, and control room designs.
- Interest in progressing toward Journeyman certification, supported by documented hours.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, organized electrical installations.

The role is based in an industrial/manufacturing environment focused on commercial electrical assemblies and control room infrastructure. You will work primarily on non-energized systems, installing wiring, conduit, and electrical components on wall structures and assemblies. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday mornings when project needs require it. The environment is hands-on and production-oriented, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and consistent output in a shop or plant setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
