Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Technician
Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and maintain all equipment used to transport and handle freight. Common equipment includes single and tandem axle diesel over‑road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, and propane and diesel‑powered industrial forklifts.
Track completed and uncompleted work to ensure adequate production and meet service schedules and customer commitments.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other breakdowns or potential failures, troubleshoot components, and perform failure analysis on trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts.
Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system tests, brake adjustments, and tire inflation, and repair or rebuild systems of assigned equipment as needed.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a minimum of six months of related experience or training.
Must pass background, alcohol, and drug testing.
Preferred: experience in diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, automotive service, ASE certification, or diesel engine certification.
CompensationPay: $33.00‑$40.45 per hour.
