Responsibilities
- Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
- Inspect and diagnose repair and maintenance of mobile and plant equipment.
- Plan, organize, weld, fit, and layout construction and repair jobs from blueprints; fabricate structural components according to company standards; fit and weld according to blueprints.
- Weld materials in flat, vertical, and overhead positions; cut materials using air arcs, burning rods, and acetylene/oxygen cutting torches; perform welding repair and maintenance on stationary production-related equipment, machinery, and structures such as conveyors, crushers, elevators, drives, and screws.
- Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Must have the ability to work at elevated heights.
- Must be able to problem solve and make independent decisions regarding weld draws while fabricating and addressing other issues.
- In-state travel is required occasionally.
- Provide leadership and coaching to other team members.
- 15 years of fabrication experience; must have welding experience and be able to perform brazing, welding, arc welding, and cutting tasks.
- Must have extensive knowledge of fitting, welding, and fabrication finishing accuracy.
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands; must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
