The Maintenance Preventive Technician is responsible for performing ongoing preventative maintenance and repair of the building, equipment, and infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry. This role ensures guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working condition, while also maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests and Team Members.

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair guest rooms in accordance with brand standards and property guidelines.
- Conduct minor repairs such as light bulb changes, tightening fixtures, and patching walls.
- Clean and maintain surfaces including tubs, showers, floors, mirrors, and windows.
- Respond promptly to guest and department maintenance requests.
- Complete work orders efficiently and accurately.
- Report serious maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or unusual findings immediately to the supervisor.
- Assist with custodial or general upkeep tasks when needed.
- Properly use and maintain all tools, equipment, and safety devices.
- Ensure compliance with company, brand, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at various heights.
- Routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with heavier items managed using proper equipment.
- Must be capable of close, distance, and color vision.
- Ability to work in physically demanding or stressful situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training preferred.
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
