Job Description

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to pre‑accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, working collaboratively with the team to meet repair facility KPIs and serve as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
  • Plan repair work and prepare accurate cost estimates for customers.
  • Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, pliers, and other tools to repair vehicle sections.
  • Hammer out dents and dimples; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as necessary.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as required.
  • Weld and fit parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or agreed‑upon paint.
  • Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correctness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with other repairers in an auto body shop.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using trade tools.
Other Requirements
  • Work safely in a noisy area with odors.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • Visually inspect vehicle damage under various weather conditions.
  • Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.
Compensation

$23 - $32 / Hour. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Supplemental pay may include bonuses tied to individual or business initiatives.
