Job Overview
Termite Technicians use their expertise to play a role in protecting customers' properties from wood-destroying organisms. As a Termite Technician you are the first line of defense in preserving and safeguarding customers' properties. The inspections, prevention, and treatment services you provide will create peace of mind and comfort for our customers.
Responsibilities- Identify customer's termite problems and determine remedial steps based on termite behaviors and habits.
- Perform termite treatment services safely and in accordance with company guidelines and standard practices.
- Apply anti-termite treatments to structures according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions.
- Communicate critical conditions conducive to termite activity to the customer and discuss procedures and structural modifications that may supplement the treatment process.
- Verify that job specifications are appropriate for each work order.
- Operate and maintain service vehicles and equipment.
- Complete production forms documenting services provided.
- Interact with customers and explain services provided.
- Tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, damp and/or dusty locations.
- Prepare the job site for treatment.
- Enter and exit structures and crawl spaces; climb over and on top of structures; ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
- Be comfortable working up to 20 feet on a ladder and in small confined spaces.
- General laborer, carpentry, cement, roofing, gutter and attic experience is a plus.
- Work on roofs and high areas.
- Perform a lot of moving around—regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as an OSHA-compliant respirator, and work regularly in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
- Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal the face).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence; company vehicle and gas card are provided.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience; experience in termite control is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday and Saturdays as needed.
- Licenses/certificates required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the company).
- Basic math skills—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow instructions for mixing products based on label directions.
