Collision Body Technician
The Boyd Group is seeking a skilled Collision Body Technician to join our performance-driven, safety-focused automotive team. In this role, you will repair and refinish damaged vehicle bodies, perform structural and cosmetic repairs, weld and replace panels, and prepare vehicles for painting following OEM and company standards. You’ll use modern frame and measuring equipment, ensure high-quality, safe repairs, and document work accurately.
Collaborating closely with estimators and painters, you’ll deliver exceptional customer results while benefiting from structured training, clear career paths, and a stable, growth-oriented collision repair environment.
- Perform structural and cosmetic collision repairs to OEM and company standards
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles, including panels, trim, and components
- Conduct frame and unibody repairs using modern frame and measuring equipment
- Weld, cut, and replace body panels and structural components
- Repair and finish body surfaces in preparation for paint
- Ensure all repairs meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements
- Document repair processes and parts usage accurately in shop systems
- Collaborate with estimators, painters, and parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow
- Follow standardized processes, safety procedures, and shop housekeeping standards
- Participate in ongoing training and certifications to stay current with industry practices
- Collision body repair
- Structural/frame repair
- Welding (MIG, spot)
- Panel replacement and alignment
- Body filler and surface preparation
- Measuring and diagnostic systems for frames/unibodies
- Automotive glass and trim removal/installation basics
- Use of hand, power, and pneumatic body tools
- Reading repair orders and OEM procedures
- Estimating software familiarity (e.g., CCC, Audatex)

- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- I-CAR certifications (Pro Level series) preferred
- ASE Collision Repair/Refinish certifications (e.g., B2, B3, B4) a plus

- Proficiency with MIG and spot welding equipment
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components safely
