Birmingham Electrical Contractors (BEC) is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Superintendent to lead commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Birmingham area. Responsibilities- Lead and supervise multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously.
- Manage field crews while promoting a positive, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
- Coordinate manpower, schedules, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Communicate project updates, scheduling needs, and change orders with project management.
- Perform quality control inspections, punch list management, and ensure work meets company standards.
- Oversee low-voltage terminations and installations when required.
- Mentor and develop foremen and field personnel.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel along with company-issued iPhones and iPads for reporting, documentation, and timekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
- Assist with project closeout, as-built documentation, and final turnover.
- 10+ years of commercial electrical experience.
- A valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license/card.
- Proven experience managing multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously.
- Experience leading and supervising electrical crews.
- Experience with low-voltage terminations.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and construction documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
OSHA 30 Certification (preferred). - Dependable work history and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
