Blackjack Horticulture is a full-service landscape contractor specializing in maintenance, installation, floriculture, and masonry/hardscapes. To keep our crews and equipment running strong, we're looking for a reliable Mechanic Assistant to support our shop and fleet maintenance operations.

As a Mechanic Assistant, you'll work alongside our lead mechanic to keep trucks, trailers, mowers, and landscape equipment in safe, reliable working condition. This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined who wants to build hands-on experience and grow their skills in fleet and equipment maintenance.

• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, mowers, and landscape equipment
• Perform oil changes, filter replacements, tire checks, and other basic maintenance tasks
• Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and parts inventory
• Assist with pickup and delivery of parts, equipment, or vehicles as needed
• Support the lead mechanic on larger repairs and projects
• Follow all safety protocols when working with tools, equipment, and vehicles

• Basic mechanical knowledge or prior experience with small engines, trucks, or equipment maintenance preferred
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop and outdoor environment
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
