The Journeyman Welder is responsible for performing high‑quality welding and fabrication of piping systems and structural components for commercial and industrial mechanical projects. This role works independently or as part of a crew to ensure installations meet all codes, specifications, and company standards for safety and quality.

• Perform SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and GMAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping
• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding procedures
• Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems
• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with codes and project specifications
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup and operation
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards
• Coordinate with pipe fitters, foremen, and supervisors on jobsite activities

• Minimum 4 years of commercial or industrial welding experience
• Ability to pass required weld tests (X‑ray quality preferred)
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license

In 2016, H&M Mechanical, Inc merged with Capital Refrigeration, another Comfort Systems USA Company and, in 2018, officially changed its name to Comfort Systems USA Mid South, Inc. We provide customers with high‑performance mechanical systems and services along with delivering high‑quality work at reasonable costs. The majority of our projects are with repeat customers using collaborative, innovative and team approach processes.
