Description

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and monitoring of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across all organizational facilities, including group homes, healthcare environments, administrative buildings, and transit-related properties. The role ensures all HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with CARF standards, infection-control practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and exhaust systems
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement timely repairs
  • Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary
  • Maintain climate-control systems critical to healthcare and residential environments
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs across all facilities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local/state HVAC regulations
  • Support infection-control standards by maintaining proper air quality and ventilation in healthcare and residential settings
  • Maintain documentation for inspections, maintenance logs, and CARF survey requirements
  • Ensure proper refrigerant handling in compliance with EPA guidelines
  • Respond to urgent HVAC issues and emergency service calls (after-hours as needed)
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff on broader facility needs
  • Assist with energy-efficiency initiatives and system optimization
  • Support inspections, audits, and facility readiness for surveys
  • Follow all safety procedures when working with electrical systems, refrigerants, and equipment; maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
  • Track inventory of HVAC parts, filters, and supplies; recommend and request materials and equipment as needed

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
