Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area. This role involves diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, performing routine maintenance, and conducting preventive checks to ensure safe and efficient operation. The technician will service heating and cooling equipment, verify system performance, and document all work performed. Day-to-day tasks include responding to service calls, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and communicating findings and recommendations to customers in a clear, respectful manner.

The technician is expected to follow all safety and regulatory guidelines, maintain company tools and vehicles, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction and service quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain high levels of Customer Satisfaction through professional communication, reliability, and quality workmanship.
• Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving HVAC mechanical, electrical, and performance issues.
• Knowledge of EPA regulations and possession of EPA certification for handling refrigerants or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with Maintenance & Repair of residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including equipment inspections and repairs.
• Skills in Preventive Maintenance to optimize system efficiency, extend equipment life, and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
• Understanding of HVAC system components, airflow, and basic controls; ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Commitment to safety practices, including adherence to OSHA and local codes and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for travel to customer locations in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama Area.
• Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC; prior field experience as an HVAC technician or apprentice is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite, manage time effectively, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in varied environments.
