Overview
Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9‑18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama.
Our mission is simple: to enrich lives of at‑risk youth and their families by delivering quality behavioral and educational services while fostering a safe transition to the community.
- Provide direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
- Use a therapeutic approach to all tasks, including assistance with daily activities and facilitation of groups.
- Perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention as needed.
- Carry out duties assigned by the Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader, or Shift Supervisor.
- 3rd shift Monday‑Friday 11 pm‑7:30 am with rotating weekends 9 pm‑9 am Saturday and 9 pm‑7:30 am Sunday (weekend work results in two days off the following week).

- Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or related mental‑health field (not required). - Detail‑oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to safely monitor residents and perform physical management techniques.
- Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
- Minimum age 19 years; successful drug screen and background check required (criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).
